Skin Types

Understand your skin type

A skin type describes how your skin generally behaves, oilier, drier, a mix of both, or more reactive than most. It’s a starting point for building a routine, not a fixed label. Skin behavior can shift with age, climate, hormones and the products you use.

Not sure which type describes your skin?

Most people can get a reasonable sense by watching how their skin behaves a few hours after cleansing, without any product applied: shiny all over usually points to oily skin, tight or flaky points to dry skin, shiny only in the T-zone points to combination skin, and frequent reactivity to new products points to sensitive skin.

If your skin doesn’t clearly match one pattern, or changes significantly with season or hormones, that’s common too. Routines can be adjusted rather than requiring a single fixed label.
