Skin Candid separates authorship, editorial review, practical skincare review and medical review so readers can understand who was responsible for each part of the work.
A person is credited on a page only after they genuinely complete the relevant writing or review.
How credits work
A name is a record of completed work—not decoration.
Internal planning may suggest authors or reviewers, but those suggestions are not publication claims. Public credits are added only after the person has actually written, reviewed or approved the relevant page.
Reviewer roles are kept separate because medical accuracy, practical skincare guidance and editorial quality require different responsibilities.

Lead Practical Skincare Reviewer
Merve leads Skin Candid’s practical skincare-review framework. Her scope includes product use, routine integration, tolerability, application and realistic day-to-day skincare guidance.
She does not replace medical review for diagnosis, contraindications, treatment claims or clinical safety decisions.
Dilek Ergül
Supporting Practical Skincare Reviewer
Dilek contributes practical skincare insight under Merve Akkaya’s lead framework. Her scope includes routine usability, product application, tolerability and reader-friendly practical guidance.
She does not perform medical review and does not override the lead practical reviewer.
Dr. Abdurrahman Efem
Medical Reviewer
Dr. Efem’s review scope includes clinical accuracy, contraindications, treatment claims, safety boundaries, red flags and guidance on when professional assessment may be appropriate.
Medical review is credited only when he genuinely completes the review for the relevant page.
Skin Candid Editorial Team
Research, writing and editorial review
The editorial team manages research assignments, page structure, sourcing, disclosures, internal linking, corrections and publication-readiness checks.
Team authorship does not replace specialist review when a topic requires it.
Role hierarchy
Practical skincare review has a defined lead structure.
Lead Practical Skincare Reviewer
Sets and approves practical-review standards and oversees supporting practical reviewers.
Supporting Practical Reviewer
Contributes under the lead reviewer’s framework and does not represent equal lead authority.
Medical Reviewer
Operates independently within clinical and safety scope. Medical authority is not interchangeable with practical-review authority.
Editorial Reviewer
Checks structure, sourcing, clarity, conflicts, disclosures and whether the page meets publication standards.
